Want a breathtaking tile, that’s unique and interesting? Want grade A stone tiles, treated to reveal and enhance their natural beauty?
You might want to consider travertine floor and wall tiles. Sometimes described as a marble or a limestone, travertine is a stone with a different composition – it contains less quartz than other stones, making it softer and more prone to wear.
It can either be sanded and filled for a smooth surface or cut in a variety of ways. Travertine is one of the most common stones in natural construction – it’s frequently used as wall and floor cladding in modern construction, and is a hardy material with a variety of looks and shades.
Travertine tiles for wall and floor can be sealed to protect them from water, spills and general wear and tear, but as they are a ‘softer’ stone than many, and depending on whether they are shiny, matte, textured or smooth, will depend on where you can use them
We recommend that you do not use most travertine tiles in a kitchen, or bar setting, as their vulnerability to acid can cause unsightly stains to form. It would be ideal for a bathroom, or public places where it has been treated and sealed to prevent damage.
It is also important to ensure that you strip and reseal these tiles every few years, as their softer composition may make them more prone to wear and tear. Our travertine stone tiles come in a variety of finishes, chiselled edge travertine, cushioned edge travertine, honed and filled travertine, or unfilled and brushed travertine. Each takes the basic stone and brings out its natural qualities and beauty.
Travertine tiles for walls and floors come with a low minimum order of five metres squared, and prices include VAT and free delivery. Prices are in metre square unless otherwise stated.
